impressive submissions, which seem to improve in quality every year! It has
taken the few of us here at KAO hundreds of man hours (all volunteered and
without any compensation!) to put this FREE Contest together, - scan, collate
it for the judges and prepare it for the web. I really want to thank our staff
- foremost our fabulous KAO web wizard Wil La Bossier - and the 2 other

WINDScape Ideas Competition Project Location: Cape Cod, NantucketIsland,
and Martha's Vineyard, MA Project Description: UrbanArts, endorsing
sponsor of the WINDScape ideas competition, invites artists / designers / teams
to participate in the WINDScape ideas competition. WINDScape ideas competition:
Can a wind farm be more than just a utility to generate electricity? Could a
grid of off shore wind turbines be a park, a sculpture garden, a sailing and
water sports venue, a tourist destination, a center for scientific research?
Can a wind park be a place to educate the community about the impact of wind
energy on the environment? CapeWind Associates has proposed America's first offshore wind farm - 130 wind
turbines in Nantucket Sound to supply 70% of Cape Cod and the Islands
with clean and renewable power. This project presents the unique opportunity to
connect the community to its energy source and to make renewable energy visible
and meaningful to its users. The Boston
Society of Architects, along with public and private sector sponsors, invites
designers to participate in an ideas competition. This design competition
challenges entrants to envision a CapeWindPark
that is more than just a utility to generate electricity, but a place to
educate the public about the impacts of renewable wind energy on the
