KAO President meets Yaacov Agam in W. Palm Beach, Florida, USA

Israeli sculptor and experimental artist born in 1928,
best known for his role in the development of KINETIC
ART movement.
 Trained at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design,
Jerusalem, Gieldon Art School, Zurcí and Atelier
dÁbstrait, Paris, Agam has been primarily active in
Paris. His first solo exhibition was held at the
Craven Gallery, Paris, in 1953. In 1955, he came into
limelight with the exhibition LE MOUVEMENT, at the
Dense René Gallery, Paris, where he and artists such
as BURY, CALDER and SOTO, were credited for the birth
of KINETIC ART.
Agam´s works are typically characterized with
abstraction, movement and viewer participation. He
often uses sound and light with his sculptures.
Amongst his most seen pieces are Double Metamorphosis
II (MOMA, New York), Visual Music Orchestration, and
the design of a square in the Defense quarter of
Paris. |

several KAO initiatives with Mr. Agam and will announce them as soon as
they are implemented!
Mr. Agam will also show at the Holland
Biennale, where KAO is pleased to have helped 8 International KAO Artist
Members to exhibit!

The response has been late... but fabulous!. We are excited to combine all your KAO kinetic art movie contributions in
our First
KAO
- KINETIC ART VIRTUAL EXHIBITION
. Due to the unexpected interest, we now have decided to also include
selected photo images in a type of slideshow in the movie. The deadline
for this first edition of the KAO
- KINETIC ART VIRTUAL EXHIBITION has passed, but we encourage you to
send in your CDs and DVDs in High Quality (ideally 640*480, 30fps) so
we can include them in our KINETIC ART REGISTRY database as well as in
future edition of the KAO Virtual Exhibition.

New KAO International Advisory Board Formed
We
are pleased to announce the formation of our
KAO INTERNATIONAL
ADVISORY BOARD, and the appointment of our first Advisory Board
Member, long time Kinetic Artist Mr. Ronald Mallory -
Ronald Mallory from New York is represented in Museum of Modern Art,
Whitney Museum of American Art,
Smithsonian Institute, Cooper-Hewiit Museum, all in New
York, as well as Israel Museum, Israel and the Los Angeles County
Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles,
California and many other too numerous to mention! He
sent us this image of his "Mercury Sculpture", which is on permanent
exhibit in the Museum
of Modern Art in New York. You can find his excellent website at
